Indian Institute of Technology (IIT-ISM) Dhanbad students have outshined in (GRADUATE APTITUDE TEST in Engineering) GATE 2020. Overall, 12 students have bagged ranks below 10 while 3 students have topped GATE 2020. Total of 6.8 Lakhs students appeared in GATE 2020 which was conducted in first & second week of Feb 2020.

VIKASH KUMAR, 2018 graduate in Mechanical Engineering from IIT (ISM) Dhanbad topped GATE 2020 by scoring 86.88 normalized marks. Vikash has secured a job at Vizag steel. Vikash had appeared for GATE 2018 bit he could not score good marks. He joined coaching Institute for GATE preparation.
Vikash said that His Teachers were very extremely supportive in GATE preparation. Vikash said that He used to revise his short notes every day and also used to refer the notes from the books belonging to the previous years. Vikash Kumar said that it is a wrong stereotype that average students can’t score good marks. Vikash comes from Remote village in Jehanabaad district of Bihar and his father is a farmer.

Priyanshu Maheswari has topped GATE 2020 in Mining Engineering, Priyanshu scored 73.33 marks in GATE. Priyanshu hails from Udaypur Rajasthan. He in an interview with news channel said that He studied every day in whole year, never took any break, Atleast an hour but he studied daily.
He got 9 CGPA in class 10 from Navodaya Vidyalaya. He passed class 12th with 84 percent. His father Dinesh Maheswari works in a private sector while his mother Kailash Devi is a house wife.
IIT Dhanbad Gate 2020 AIR Rank 1
Gaurav Kumar secured AIR 1 in GATE 2020 in petroleum Engineering. He scored 76.67 marks which was sufficient to top GATE 2020. Gaurav completed his graduation in petroleum Engineering from IIT DHANBAD in 2019. He said Efforts and hard work is the reason behind his success of securing AIR 1.
Gaurav is basically from Begusarai of Bihar. Gaurav father Phulendra Kumar is a teacher while his mother Meena Devi is a house wife. Gaurav has a score of 9.4 CGPA in class 10 while He scored 80.4 percentage in class 12. Gaurav said He never worried about marks and just concentrated on his effort.

In other top ranks from IIT DHANBAD, Rupam Raj from Electrical Engineering secured AIR 2 in Electrical Engineering stream in GATE 2020. While Vishal Bairwa secured AIR 4 from Petroleum Engineering. Devesh Rathor secured AIR 4 in Mining Engineering while Vivek Kumar secured AIR 6 in same branch.
Other top Ranks include Jaiz P Baby who received AIR 3 while Brijesh Kumar Patel got AIR 5. Gaurav Saini also secured AIR 5 in different stream. Sagnik Biswas got AIR 9 while Atman Madhumaya received AIR 10 in GATE 2020.
