Jamshedpur NIT student missing for four days found dead in Water tank
The body of Raja, a student of National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jamshedpur, who has been missing for four days, has been recovered from a water tank located near the college campus. He was a resident of Saharsa, Bihar.

The body of the Adityapur water tank trapped in the supply pipeline was evacuated by the NDRF team after 4 hours of hard work. According to the police, prima facie the case seems to be of suicide. Raja’s jacket and slippers have been recovered from the water tank. SDO Ram Krishna Kumar said that the cause of suicide was being investigated. On the other hand, the employees of the water tank will also be questioned for negligence in security. When the drinking water department employees started investigating because of water supply in Adityapur area from 3:00 pm on Thursday afternoon, it was found that the body was stuck in the pipeline of the water tank.

since February 14, Raja , a student of NIT missing from Sakchi hotel, living in Gauspur village of Saharsa district, Bihar, had reached Jamshedpur with his friend Aniket Raj on 14 February to take the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering – GATE. He was staying in a lodge in Golmuri. Then suddenly disappeared on 16 February. On receiving information, his family members also reached Jamshedpur. Since then, the police was investigating him.

NIT Jamshedpur student goes missing :
Jamshedpur, Feb 16: A third year student of National Institute of Technology (NIT), Jamshedpur has gone mysteriously missing from a hotel in the city. The youth identified as Raja Kumar is a student of Mechanical Engineering stream at NIT Jamshedpur. He originally hails from Samastipur, Bihar and had come to the city to appear in an exam at a centre in Mango.
According to information, the missing youth had come to Jamshedpur to attend GATE exam, but was found missing from 14 February at 12:30 pm from a hotel Hira Lodge. His friends, who were staying along with him in the hotel, kept waiting for his return but in vain. Later on the friends informed his family members.
His brother Mejar Kumar is also a first year student of Electrical Engineering IIT(ISM) Dhanbad. Mejar’s friend Gaurav Anand tweeted to district police and informed them about his disappearance. Soon after the Tweet, the police came into action.
“We have started a probe after receiving a complaint from the family members. During the probe we found that Raja had gone to the market to get his mobile phone recharged but did not return after that. His bag and other belongings are still in the hotel. We have also questioned his friends who were staying at the same hotel,” said an official of Sakchi police station.
