Tata Steel MD TV Narendran takes COVID-19 jab at TMH Jamshedpur, urges all to get vaccinated | Jamshedpur News
Jamshedpur, April 1: To contain the COVID-19 pandemic, the Government of India started the COVID Vaccination programme in January 2021. To streamline the COVID Vaccination, Tata Main Hospital (TMH) started the Online Slot Booking facility for COVID Vaccination through the TMH Vishwas portal or App. Vaccination is being made available to those eligible as per the existing guidelines of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. As per the government guidelines, all people above the age of 45 years, irrespective of the comorbidities, is eligible for vaccination from April 1. Advance appointment can be booked through cowin.gov.in.
T. V. Narendran, CEO & Managing Director, Tata Steel, took his first shot of COVID-19 vaccine at TMH today along with his spouse Ruchi Narendran. Praising the process of vaccination, he said: “I am happy to get the first dose of COVID vaccine today. It is a simple and painless process. As the COVID-19 cases in India are rising, I urge everyone to come forward and take the vaccine to protect themselves and their families. With this small step, we can control the spread of COVID-19.”
“Even after vaccination, one must continue to follow COVID-19 appropriate behaviour including wearing of mask, hand sanitisation, social distancing and avoid crowded places”, he added.
Following suit were the leadership team of Tata Steel who also took their first dose of vaccine.
Chanakya Choudhary, Vice President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel along with other VPs and senior officials of the company took COVID-19 vaccine on Thursday.
